It doesn't matter if it's climate change or gun control or any of the topics that divide us on generally a Right/Left Conservative/Liberal basis - we keep getting more and more intolerant of the other groups position and digging in harder and becoming more belligerent about our opposition to the other group. I hope we can keep it together and figure out a way to move forward together, but maybe the experiment we call the United States just isn't going to work out and we should split the up the lower 48 into several regional territories - or fifty plus a few smaller ones that might be needed here and there - and help everyone relocate to those regions where they will be able to live and thrive in a community that understands and supports them. We could keep the military pretty much as is as a United Defense Force open to all citizens of the New Territorial Regions of America and expand it to include a three year mandatory tour of service in either a military corps, a civil engineering-infrastructure corps, or a social services corps and as a pathway to citizenship for those looking to immigrate. Nah- let's all just keep hating and shitting on eachother - fuck it, right?
