  3. I've had this idea too but it won't work. The problem is that while the rest of us might be happy with that arrangement, they never would be. Pretty soon some stain would be agitating that they need more room or resources and crying about their dignity being infringed upon and a manifest destiny or some other foolishness and the next thing you know the assholes have started a border war. No, the stupid one third of our population needs the rest of us to at least try and keep them from inflicting their damage on everyone else.

I grew up around Conservatives who reveled the line, "America - love it or leave it!" and I was always confused about why they were staying somewhere around people they were all so angry at if they felt that way. I'm repeating this a lot lately in my posts because I think it might help explain some of what's going on. The Right have been raised to believe and act in a way that goes against basic morality in favor of conservative dogma and doctrine which is often quite severe and inhumane. As such, knowing that they are bad as evidenced by having to keep going to church to ask to be forgiven for how they are living their lives and the thoughts in their minds, they feel terrible about themselves and are lashing out at the rest of us trying to make everyone else feel as bad as they do. It's the old "misery loves company" thing.

  5. Unfortunately, too many vocal Conservatives express themselves in very fascistic ways. Like it or not, Fascists have in the vast majority of the time been on the Right socio-politically. There is a lot overlap between the two ideologies like hating Marxists and Communism, opposition to cultural and political liberalism, Corporatism, Nationalism, and a willingness or even desire to use violence as an initial answer to problems. Not a lot of fascist hippies out there.
