  1. If a species is able to move beyond the limits of a lifespan then it makes the question of distance and time less important. As an example, if I was able to transfer my consciousness into a mechanical structure then I could travel at sublight speeds for as long as it takes to move from one star system to another to see what was there. And if there was a developed intelligent species in that star system that I wanted to learn about I might even be able to transfer my consciousness (or make a copy) back into one of their bodies that I was able to create and spend time living among them so as not to be seen as an alien and add that knowledge to my own. Or I could make a number of copies, send them to other systems to explore them for a period of time and then have them return to the starting point.

  2.  @reddillon8425  Just because someone is a rambling paranoid schizophrenic doesn't mean what they are saying isn't true or a version of something else that is actually going on. Being dismissive and ridiculing someone who knows something is a great way to keep a secret secret.
