Even though I always liked girls, I was also very much of what was refereed to as a sissy when I was a little kid and I was unpleasantly educated by my peers and society that that was bad. So I hid away that part of myself, toughened up and focused on developing and expressing only the masculine parts of my personality. But those feminine elements are still there and now that I'm older and don't give as much of a fuck I just don't worry about it. It's not to the point where I'd ever identify as female even for a while or as transgender, but I do like the term non-binary because life and love and being who we are usually doesn't come down to a choice that clear-cut. There are a hell of a lot more than fifty shades of grey to how we get through this life.
