@ofoghladha2110 If you want to be reductive about it then it's us versus them and they won a long time ago. Us ... have you seen us? We are a mess! So easily manipulated and controlled it's practically Pavlovian.

10:22 - to be fair, if Bill Clinton hadn't been screwing around with a young staffer in the Oval office Ken Star wouldn't have had a case for impeachment. To hell with Ken Star, but Bill Clinton can go fish himself.

@ofoghladha2110 Are you talking about the United States? If so then no, the government is not us. The government is an institution put in place to establish the status quo and maintain order in this capitalist, soft-authoritarian country. It's very rare for anyone who doesn't at least privately support and prosper from the current economic system to become a candidate of either of the two main parties let alone get elected. No conspiracy theory about that - just historical fact and the reality of some very clever and other very rich people manipulating a rigged system to their continued benefit. Maybe some future generation will find a way to reach that more equitable economic system, or when AI and robotics replace human workers, but there are way to many people still invested in the status quo for things to change much. But you tilt at those windmills! Dreamers are the only ones who will ever change the system so give 'em hell. The long arc of history will hopefully prove you right. Just not sure WE will survive the short arc of the next few decades.

@ofoghladha2110 On that we are in complete agreement! I actually do have hope for the long term potential of people in general. And I should have originally included that I agree with you that we can make change through voting at the local level. It's the national and international parts of our government where I think the voters don't have much influence at the moment - at the moment.
