  1. 9:46 - I loved hearing Representative McBath making the same point about women who suffer a miscarriages I've been posting about since the anti-Roe memo was leaked. The thought that a woman could be imprisoned for something that happens naturally to a large percentage of women is insane. The fact that it already happens makes me sick. I'm surprised I hadn't heard about this before on Democracy Now (maybe I missed it) but an example is when an "Oklahoma jury convicted a Native American woman of manslaughter for miscarrying a pregnancy after 15-17 gestational weeks. She's one of 57 such cases documented in the state since 2006 — and 1,200 in the United States." The National Advocates of Pregnant Women (NAPW), a pro-choice advocacy group, has recorded 1,600 such cases between 1973 and 2020, with about 1,200 occurring in the last 15 years alone.
