The look that cat gave the person who said "jump, dude" was one of most cat things I've seen a cat do.

Getting someone to give a cop their ID is a pure power play that tells them if the person is going to be a cooperative sheep or a trouble maker.

Always amazed there isn't more extra judicial retaliation against cops for the all the harm they do. It's not like they suffer professionally or personally for this crap.

As most of these places (obviously NOT Salt Lake, NYC, Eugene or Battle Creek) have mild climates it shouldn't be a surprise that they have large populations of people living rough. Also, if an area, usually more liberally governed, has more social programs and outreach to assist people living on the streets or in a vehicle then that's going to increase the population of people going somewhere to get that help. And there are many accounts and or even unwritten policies where conservative areas will buy a bus ticket sending unhoused people to these and other locations which further concentrates and exacerbates the problem. Most people would probably prefer life on the streets somewhere like LA, Honolulu, or Santa Barbara than small towns in Mississippi, Louisiana, or Alabama which all rank as having the lowest rates of homelessness in the country.

Thank you for pointing out that the term "Trickle Down Economics" was always meant to be a joke - just like "pulling yourself up by your bootstraps". Yet again proof that conservatives on both sides of the pond at best have a twisted and crap sense of humor.
