  3. distro choice itself shouldn't matter too much, so long as it tends to stay up to date (as above) what matters more for games is whether you use Wayland or X, which is a choice independent of the distro. This can affect performance, whether it even works, and sometimes some very random things, but unfortunately in game-dependant ways. And of course, how your GPU stuff is set up is going to be important, but that will depend on your hardware. getting this right is probably easiest on Arch due to the amount of resources, but i doubt it's going to differ much between distros either.
