That said, macOS's memory management scheme tries to not waste RAM as much as possible, if it can, it will drastically over-allocate memory and start copying frequently accessed files into RAM until there's nothing meaningful to copy or there is 1GB of ram left. So you can get figures like 32 of 33 GB used at idle, then run something that uses 25GB and the apparent usage doesn't change or goes down. basically what i'm saying is memory usage statistics on macOS are completely useless.

  6. You can try to use the translation layer they made. I've heard it works pretty well
