  3. phosphine is pyrophoric, it can ignite itself in contact with air, but that requires higher concentrations and probably something to irritate it. So a spontaneous explosion of the lung is not that likely to happen ( from what i know ). But it theoretically can. Further, upon burning it produces phosphorus pentoxide, which can ( and will ) then react with water to create phosphoric acid — not ideal to have in your lungs.
