  1. The genus lacrodectus has over 30 species and is found everywhere but Antarctica and probably Siberia and Scandinavia. Looking at lists, a lot of the species are native to the Americas, but there is a species — namely the physically larges one — endemic to some small part of Africa, then there is one native to New Zealand; so i assume it originally came from America, but you can not say that the genus itself is native to anywhere.
