  2. i will have a guess at which polar bear part is poisonous: Liver. iirc, the livers of most large carnivores contain a lethal dose of vitamin A.

  4. generally true, but in this case the volume of CO2 released was beyond ridiculously large, and probably enough to displace a significant portion of the oxygen. Even the 8% mentioned already displaces almost 10% of the oxygen in a space. Everyone else around, even in the same space, died, so i guess the stars aligned for him.

  5.  @sodaaccount  afaik, CO2 poisoning does not have much to do with ventilation control directly. CO2 and the resulting acididy messes with neurotransmitters ( specifically acetylcholine ), decreasing heart rate to below what is needed to keep up the required breathing rate, leading to asphyxiation.
