They really did. I don't think any sane person cannot agree they made the best fighter jet ever. Unfortunately, now it is a game of stealth and missiles and fighting jets are old news. Certainly when you cannot beat them, beat the game they play right?

@vksasdgaming9472 did you just say that the reason a helicopter blew up in a movie was because it was an American helicopter. This is your brain on propaganda.
6
It is the absolute global standard for type and a beast. If it can Afghanistan mountains, it can anywhere. Always knew it was going to win. OEF, saw every single bomb aftermath in Afghanistan for most of a year. These were what you wanted when you had to go somewhere spooky and hard to get to for sure. Heavier vehicles start becoming more vulnerable and this thing can really move. They're good. American Muscle, thoroughbred war winner bet. Also modern jeeps have been toys for people who are all talk that you don't want second hand but maybe that's changed. Don't trust the drivetrain or build quality at all in them though.

Unfortunately for Russia heavy and slow transport aircraft aren't as effective as light fast ones. The Russians couldn't afford to have two specialized platforms so they had to have one that was slightly suboptimal in both but became one of the best all around military helicopters for it's well rounded-ness in it's time.
3
What about multiple arsenal ships.
3
@Dimetropteryx You were saying?
2
@Dimetropteryx The video you watched already had the flying airframe you tool. The aircraft is flying and being tested now and has been flying for years. The video you watched used footage of its first flight. If you actually watched it. The helicopter it's based on first flew in 2015. So you are just unbelievably ignorant.
2
@Dimetropteryx You were just wrong. From the first time you posted and even still, just wrong.
2
@tony_5156 It has much better sensors and is a lot more stealthy than the alligator. If both were trying to shoot the other down with air to air missiles it would likely kill the alligator without ever being seen by it. And it is a transport helicopter, not an attack helicopter.
2
@marksmadhousemetaphysicalm2938 Interestingly, a confirmed observation throughout history is that more sons are born in wartime. Not due to anything people do like abortions or what have you, it is just a natural hormonal thing. Unrelated to radar completely of course, it's been true for thousands of years.
2
It's known as an artillery duel.
2
Shoot And Scoot

In my (educated) opinion, the shock of weapon advancement is going to be greater than it was in the world wars. People could not comprehend the machine gun and artillery, people could not comprehend mechanized warfare, and the next major global conflict is going to show those technologies at full maturation and unnatural speed. We're like the fish swimming in the ocean and the machines of war are the bird killing us from a dimension we cannot understand. It's going to be bad.
2
It's troop capacity is very low, it presents a very large thermal and radar signature, it is unable to operate effectively as a transport aircraft due to its low speed and low cargo lift capacity. It is hampered as an attack aircraft by it's mass, bulk, and poor electronic defense and offense. It can't see very well so can't function in the reconnaissance role and likely can't function very well as a tank hunter either. So it literally is just a flying BMP
2
@jvbutalid8316 exactly. It's already happening and these people can't wrap their head around a trailer that follows a truck or what missiles have been doing since the missile age began.
2
@jvbutalid8316 I think the number of vls cells on ships is advancing in line with a trend towards arsenal-type vessels.
2
Ah-64 is a gunship, hunter killer, reconnaissance platform, and close air support platform. It is faster, more agile, can see better, shoot farther, communicate better, and is much more modern in every aspect of it's design. It's a thoroughbred and if you are comparing the Hind to it then you are going to always be disappointed. Hind is an flying ifv, Apache is a hunter killer gunship. Russians need to stop trying to convince themselves that they won the cold war so hard that everything they built back then is still the best.
2
Exactly, this is why she isn't nuclear and why her air wing is what it is as well as her armament. The design decisions were sound it's really just how she's been cared for.
2
It is going to share parts with the attack helicopter to make for easier logistics and maintenance. If the F-35 is any indication, it will be a lot easier to maintain than previous generation aircraft by quite a bit.

@The_PaleHorseman liar.
1
@The_PaleHorseman How do you think a tail rotor gets power mr twenty years ago? Do you think that you are the only person in the whole world that can learn anything or do you just think the air force and navy just write down lists of complaints and do the opposite of them? This was specifically designed with the experiences do people like you in mind and is more stealthy and is the transport helicopter. It's the newest best design and your only complaint is to whine and call it stupid with absolutely zero chance you will ever put your hands on it or have listened to a single engineer explain how they are improving the maintenance cycle over previous generations. It is literally a requirement on the FVL. And how do you think tail rotors get their power guy? Do you have some stunning revelation about why turning the tail rotor 90° is somehow going to be harder to maintain when you REMOVE a transfer case from the design? In your mind it is stupid because it is a ... simpler linkage?? "tHe dESiGN iZ sTuPid bEcAuSe oSpRey" ... It's literally the fastest, most maneuverable, and stealthiest helicopter yet built, you haven't done anything with it's engineering or maintenance and you have no clue what you are talking about other than old complaints about a completely different aircraft that is also going to be replaced. If there is anything you can actually refute me on other than your resume kindly do so or shut up. Or better yet learn about what you are talking about and tell the Russian and chinese propaganda accounts all over every youtube video about american equipment exactly where they can shove their idiotic propaganda. They don't need former maintenance crew of different aircraft to quote and you don't need to be running your mouth.
1
@The_PaleHorseman I have never played whatever you are talking about. I am an aviation engineer, physics major and am contracted on an air force base where they build and maintain at least a single part for every aircraft the US owns. (Well all the public ones.) Your best defense to being accused of being too dumb and ignorant to read is really "I'm too dumb and ignorant to read?" What a brilliant response, you really showed me. Stop running your mouth about things you don't know about and take some pride in the fact that your country is the best air power in the world despite people like you blindly saying "I don't like it" like children.
1
The class was designed to be fully capable of upgrading to energy weapons, kinetic and directed energy both. The US Navy learned well from the radar mass of yesterday and has made it with future expansion of high energy weaponry in mind specifically. No other nation has ever built a super carrier and we have had dozens and our newest have "energy weapons coming soon" wires. The US truly is unbelievably far ahead of every other nation. Like the bible says, we will have the power to crush others with the power of iron mixed in our clay
1
This thing is 3-5 tons heavier and fatter than it's American counterparts....
1
Still happens today, well prior to war anyway. A recent video of a sukhoi pilot showing off very close to a b-52

F's flocked like birds around ft campbell when I was there.

@guppiapfeljustleopardthing8756 that's a great point. This IS the king leopard

Hydration is not a joke.

Russian propaganda.

I also remember unfounded anecdotes with no real basis in reality from my time in the military
1
Missile trucks are the future
1
@LegionesCataegis429 So then I guess the Huey is still a great helicopter by your metric. The original jeep with double digit horsepower is still perfect for modern war and that old muscle car is perfectly safe too. They are deathtraps for a reason, doesn't mean they can't do things. BMP is same boat, getting a lot of people killed when a modern version they would have lived.
1
It would be amazing to be a pilot from soviet times, just screwing around in amazing planes like this and the su-27
1
@SneakyWooddha a helicopter flew without either of it's engines working? Come on mate, this is Chinese level propaganda
1
@jvbutalid8316 I'm less concerned about that, it won't take much push to make more than enough missiles for all the world to die. They are cheap enough. What I wonder is how escalation and politics and borders will change when you can shoot the enemy capital directly from your capital. We have not seen what happens when fortresses lay siege to fortresses and the death of maneuver is a real game changer. How long until the conventional gives way to the tactical nuclear? Do you think people will keep restrained?
1
That seems to be the direction the Army is moving probably L55 gun /130mm used as an interim weapon as germany is advancing towards.
1
They exist but are as of yet, inferior in size and accuracy.
1
@alamoemperor3845 in a straight line after a long run up lol. It is not even close to "faster" in anything other than maximum Sprint speed in optimal conditions
1
@ericama6341 Put it to the test then Vodka boi ))) And hurry up because we are already replacing it with something better. We stole a Hind from you, have you seen an Apache drift or go nose down? Have you seen what it can do to a man? Your men at Deir al-Zor learned the hard way, or did putin not decide you were man enough to know about that like he decided your father's money was better spent on a palace on the black sea?
1
@jem2779 Okay, you can have a drone fight your battles and support your troops! Here at the 101st we're going to keep the helicopters though. ...good luck
1
@jem2779 In other words, you don't have a rebuttal to being wrong.

FYI there is a huge amount of russian propaganda accounts in here being all friendly and talking about how carriers are obsolete because of missiles: the Russian party propaganda line which favors, ...who do you think. The people in the West who build carriers are smarter than youtube gives credit and aircraft and aircraft carriers are not ever going away. Because believe it or not the main thing airplanes carry is missiles. And in fact, carriers are pretty well equipped to fight missiles. And missiles have actually existed a long time. Getting smarter and faster doesn't mean the end of the ship as we know it or the complete removal of capital ships. Like the Russian propaganda is pushing in every single place. (Along with the obsoleteness of the A-10.) both easily verified propaganda focuses of russian intelligence at the internet research agency in st Petersburg. Watch the hours they post and learn to recognize the type of accounts and the blocks of dates they were made around. Again, don't take my word for it, take your government's intelligence agencies word Listen to the people who advise your government and not the opinions of magazines and military variety networks. Or rather, temper the latter with the former more. But yes, Russia will build more carriers. I doubt they will go through with their new carrier/expansion of the Kuznetsov at this point but who knows. They do seem interested in continuing to work on her. I think a lot more likely is for them to start building smaller amphibious carriers like the French thunder ship or what have you. They are moving to a lighter and smaller naval aircraft and moved their attack helicopter as well. I think smaller carrier's are the more likely future but Russian Tsars always build as they go mad so there really is no telling until unless you are watching the pallets of steel or whatever.

You forget that if you give everyone special forces equipment your entire army levels up /s

Tesla Einstein it IS the most advanced and modern tank in the world. The problem is, most advanced and modern is a lot less valuable in tank fleets than in aircraft. Simplicity and ruggedness are what make tanks so deadly. Not that they can never die but that men and vehicles will survive and return to service. For that reason the T-14 is not the best mbt even though it is doubtless the most advanced. Other than the purpose built Israeli tanks surely the T-14 is next best because of its advanced method of operating like a video game. But in a mass war Russia will rely on it's much older tank designs. Because they are much harder to kill and much easier to replace. And because their basic design and low weight and size is already very competent and competitive.
1
@Tankliker they are testing a 2cm cannon now right?
1
Hurr if you don't pronounce it right you are anti Israeli and American ...dweeb
1
Do you know what is really good at carrying and shooting down anti ship missiles and can be carried aboard special ships with flight decks?
1
@JRyan-lu5im A key takeaway of modern conventional war is that there is no need to take or hold territory. If you destroy their ability to fight with aircraft you don't need to take their territory. Because you have already struck as deeply as you need to, you already won.
1
@wudruffwildcard252 believe it or not you can't understand international arms supply by going to your local furniture store.
