  1. There are 2 battles of Kursk. The first in 1941 was a Soviet tactical withdrawl. It ended in orderly exfill with a successful reargaurd action. the Red Army was not surrounded and largely was intact. The reds also were able to pack up the factory machinery and evecuate it to interior of Russia. The 2nd, more famous battle of Kursk 1943 was the largest Tank battle in history. With Zhukav's famous 3 layer defense works won the battle, the N@$/s could not breach.
