  2. Debt also costs less in real dollars the longer you spread out the payments. Example: your college loans have 10 years to repay. In 10 years, your income is much higher due to inflation yet your debt is still in dollars from 10 years ago... so the debt is a shrinking percentage of your income (assuming that your income goes up every year) and is easier to pay.
