  3. Research has shown that people spend an average of 7 minutes at a gas station and 30 minutes at a station on vacation trips. Until electric cars can achieve 7 minutes to refuel, I don't think it will ever go mainstream to replace ICE for personal ownership. Most people aren't going to install a charger in their house. If I forget to plug it in at home overnight, I'd want to be able to go to a fuel station and get charged in 7 minutes.

  4. @Russell: You're missing the point about refueling. It's not about convenience of charging overnight. I've forgotten to charge my phone but there's no consequence in the morning and I can still go to work ; but if I forgot to charge a Tesla, I can't go down to the local fuel station and gas up in 7 minutes.
