I think the sales volumes have to be high enough for a manufacturer to justify R&D for a manual, and because exotic cars are sold in such low numbers (unlike a Corvette) so that is the reason exotic cars stopped offering the manual whereas a Corvette still sells about 9000 units/year with a manual transmission.
