@magallon643 I can see owning a Tesla roadster as a toy (for the acceleration 0-60mph in claimed 1.9 seconds and sexy body like the Corvette) but not the other Teslas (model s, model 3, model x) to be used as reliable transportation.

U are sheep...... so why would Telsa bother spending time and money on patents?

I test drove in late December 2018 so I can't imagine how much stiffer and bumpy the earlier ones would be. From a scale of 1-10 stiff to soft ride, I would rate the ride as: 2017 Toyota Camry =5 (as a reference point). 2018 Mercedes S450 =10 2017 Cadillac CTS-V =8 2018 Mercedes E450 =8 2018 Lexus LS450 =7 2018 Lexus ES350 =7 My 2014 Toyota Highlander =6 My 2008 Scion xB=4 2018 Jaguar iPace=4 My 2017 Corvette Stingray =3 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera S =3 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulla quadrafoglio=3 2017 Porsche Cayman=1 2018 Tesla Model 3 =2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2aKrRysye0

- With more Model 3 on the road than before, Tesla service or bodyshop is going to have a long backlog wait times. - With more Model 3 on the road hogging up charging stations, you'll have to add the wait time for an available spot on top of your own charging time.

Future of cars is not electric because I don't have time to map out the distance of my itinerary before I check how much battery power I have before I hit the road.

@xxwookey Yeah, throughout history, a horseback rider such as a cowboy or warrior on horseback or a roman chariot is less efficient than a car and requires more skill to operate. Likewise, an ICE car with a manual transmission is less efficient and harder to operate than a self-driving EV. But it's a lot more fun and majestic the farther back in history you go: ICE with its engaging manual transmision and seductive rumbling exhaust note and a big 6.2 litres V8 engine that make the whole car shake is more fun than a silent EV.

@xxwookey lol, that's what I've said last year. Just like how the wealthy today still ride horses for pleasure, the masses will use a car. In the future, the wealthy will drive an ICE car for pleasure, while the masses will drive an EV (more efficient and blah blah blah BUT sterile and boring). It seems most people I know who aren't into cars want a tesla and it to drive them, therefore why bother buying a car when the public transportation metros that I took in Paris were way way more efficient and someone else drives (and way way boring).

Teslas are heavy, how long do your tires last? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ig4MCdP0C2Q tires ride lower height wears tires https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ig4MCdP0C2Q Tesla has higher insurance rates than ICE cars, also higher parts prices, tires wear out faster

Do you realize that China is a communist? Do you know what that means? China lies. There is currently high tension in the south china seas between the U.S. and China; what happens to U.S. companies in China if war broke out? The U.S. subsidized Tesla to get progress on batteries but now Tesla shares its technology in China, that wouldn't make the U.S. government happy.
