People need to understand that there is nothing FUNDAMENTALLY wrong with the economy right now (unlike the financial/banking collapse of 2008). The SOLE cause of the current stock decline is a simple virus and social panic. Very recently, before the virus came along, economists were saying this was the strongest, healthiest economy in 100 years. My prediction is a very quick economic recovery - as fast as it declined, it will come back. BUY when people are fearful.

@mrknesiah Oh STOP with the DOOM and GLOOM The NEWS MEDIA is blowing the unemployment out of proportion by emphasizing the jobs lost instead of the 4.4% rate of unemployment which is a damn good low number; Economic theory says full employment is 4%! When Obama took office from, Bush, unemployment was 10%. Republicans said Obama wouldn't be able to get unemployment below 8% yet he got it down to 4%!

@Jay-xr3sb Yes, the economy is going to face headwinds for a while, but a lot of critics are overlooking the fact that there is a massive amount of pent-up demand. People who aren't out buying things right now will want to get out of the house again, go to out to dinner, get their hair done, go shopping for new clothes, and generally spend, spend, spend. It's true that a lot of businesses won't make it through this and that there will be jobs lost, but there are going to be winners, too. Some company is making a lot of money creating all the clear acrylic shields for the cashiers.
