KAH-ZOCK-STAN. Why're you putting an extra "I" in there? JFC.

None of this progress happens (the Brits getting rightfully spanked) without the rules-based world order. And you don't get a rules-based world order unless the rules are enforced. Thugs like Russia must not be allowed to prevail.

Why did Thatcher pull the aid for the students? 🧐

"Parties served as simple shells for their candidates. People voted for the party simple because they wanted to vote for the candidate." Say what now? Having trouble parsing this bit at ~6:30.

Cue Real Genius references.

Pretty bad. 😬😬😬

Deja vu?

You don't have to actually render any sort of prototype to get a patent.
1
Wait, what are talking about @ ~2:25? Err, how do you transmit a video feed from a UAV (Pointer) to the ground via a fiber optic cable? Derp.

@kennethferland5579 : Ayup. It's also backed by the US Navy.

Weird that you didn't mention Microsoft's one with however many billions of parameters. I think that's the biggest at the moment. And you didn't mention IBM's new chip.

Actually, only poseurs pronounce it "shah." It's more commonly spoken by saying each letter: "es aitch ay two fifty-six."

You can invest in currency. It's essentially a commodity market with its own exchanges and whatnot. It's literally the largest market in the world. I'm being gentle with you because I realize you could be a kid. Now go do some Googling, young person.

@diegogmx2000 : 100%.

Bitcoin is like a Chia Pet if a Chia Pet could come to life and eat your face off.

The language barrier (more specifically, the writing differences) was the biggest confounding factor for early Japanese software developers. Still is.

TRAP EVERYTHING!

A prompt grants you access to a peripheral sensor (the keyboard, usually) and gives you the opportunity to enter a command, hence the term "command prompt."

I don't understand why Rolex was not included in the essay. Trying to stay focused on that "accessible luxury" price point? Would that have made the thesis unwieldy?

By what metric?

Consumer-facing software versioning is one of the greatest scams of the Anthropocene.
1
It's the cost of abstraction. It's QA. I wrote an article once on software unit testing and how to semi-automate it. In Hardwarelandia, this all started with math "co-processors." Now we have insane levels of logic implemented in nanoscale circuits. When is a "chip" no longer a "chip?"
1
Pleasantly surprised. Thanks, Mr. Algorithm. Burnt-out old software developers like me love this.

Yup. Stuff's just gross.

LLMs less a new OS, and more a new programming language. As far as that whole analogy holds.

@didxogns1 : Nonsense.

I sharpshoot your content like I do my own (adult) children's work. It occurs to me that I don't praise your work like I do my own children's work. I'm a big fan. You're doing really good work. 👍
