  1. Finally, someone explains it in a simple manner that most folks can understand. A lot of Peter's explanation is why I doubt the BRICS group can affect any changes in the global reserve system and financial system at large. While those countries are basing it on gold reserves, their 'fiat' finances are typically a mess, non-transparent, and their economies are not open enough to recognize problems and make adjustments to keep valuation swings (and financial pain to their populations) to a minimum. If BRICS is to succeed it'll take at least a decade and a lot of financial "come-to-Jesus" soul searching by the participating countries to make it viable. If a more equitable reserve system were truly needed it would almost be better for the USA, E.U., U.K., and Japan to get together and set up a new reserve system.
