  1. China prints quite a bit of money too, it just highly restricts the sale of its bonds or lets it out of the country to 'float' its value on international money exchange markets. If it did that you could be guaranteed its value would drop like a brick (or BRICS?). That would be a great 'short' play if you could time it correctly.

  2. The USA military manufacturers consolidated back in the 1990s after the 'Cold War' ended, they are not going to break up into smaller companies. The military costs are high because a lot of the newer technology-heavy products go through a lot of development changes as they are being designed - redesign, rebuild, more costs. If you look closely at a lot of Chinese military gear you'll see its copied from western designs, which reduces costs but limits knowledge of how/why something should work so it requires more maintenance and can experience more failures. As for minerals and manufacturing costs vs China, how much does China spend on pollution controls, even simple methods to reduce pollution in the air, in water, on land? AFAIK its none, low production costs are #1.

  3. There back on until the Fed Appeals Court gets briefs on the case June 9th. This whacky on/off is worse than just having the tariffs in place!
