Poor analysis of the project's financial viability before constructing it. 2. The rail line in Kenya from the interior to Nairobi to Mombasa. It was supposed to bring growth and development to southwest Kenya, but the farmers in that region still find it cheaper to have trucks take their goods to Mombasa. The rail line still serves passengers, but it can't make enough money to cover operational costs with just passenger fares. It was originally planned to include a line extension to Uganda but Uganda didn't want it. Once again poor financial analysis of the project's viability by China before construction.
