Japan's are not really supercarriers, they are made for helicopters and the F-35B (vertical takeoff/landing version). Chian has three aircraft carriers, but two issues are they are petrol-powered so need to dock/refuel which limits their range (the USA's are nuke-powered) and their carrier group ships are not considered sufficient, plus the volume/type of aircraft they can handle is minimal right now.

And I suppose that 'new point of gravity' will be China? Yeah, I'm sure they'll all like it when they become merely provinces under the authority of Bejing, versus the USA having true diplomatic relations and allowing them to chart their own economic and political course.

Not to worry if you're a Mexican in Mexico, as a lot of us in the USA never supported the "Orange Jesus" (he got 49.8% of the popular vote in the election, so less than a majority), and a lot of his 'disciples' are having misgivings (menosprecio/contempt) about voting for him as he has backed away from his campaign promises (which were ridiculous to begin with).

Not to worry, a lot of USA citizens hold Trump in a negative view, too (he won with 49.8% of the vote), and that may increase as he continues to break his campaign promises; most of it was just to attract voters. As for menosprecio, I think that means 'contempt' in English, so perfectly appropriate. He still has to deal with the USA Congress to get legislation passed, and with the House of Reps having a very slim Republican majority I'll bet there will be a few 'defections' in voting to thwart some of what he wants. The drug problem has to be worked on from both side of the border, as does immigration. As for economics Mexico/USA/Canada can form a good partnership, maybe include some Central American or South American partners in an alliance (the USA already has a partial free-trade agreement with Colombia). Cheers/Salud.

It remains to be seen how good their automobiles are (longevity and longer term reliability). I have seen some mentions from Australia that they are not as good as Euro, Japanese, S. Korean, American vehicles at this time. None of their car companies have been making cars for very long (maybe 4-5 years?) and still sell mostly in China.

@candlelarbra5212 True, but they are sized and equipped for their local environment, and are very capable in that environment (northern Europe and the Baltic Sea).

@zibbitybibbitybop Don't forget the all-important wine and agricultural products! 😉 And how their relations with China evolve.

In the present day its ethnically the same with similar demographics. Culturally they are ever-so-slowly drifting apart, politically they are on different sides of the universe.
