  1.  @tsubadaikhan6332  There used to be a thriving Avocado industry in the USA but imports from Mexico after the NAFTA treaty killed off a lot of it, and causing avocado prices at the stores to drop significantly. We still have groves in Southern California (probably other warm environments, too), but most of what's left are specialty types of the fruit.

  3. Yeah, Peter did mention the avocado/cartel connection in a previous video. El Chapo expanded into that market, mostly through extortion and protection pay-offs. So now anyone in the USA who eats avocados could be considered complicit in supporting the cartels?

  4. Good point. I forgot that the cartel(s) had taken over the avocado business in Mexico. Its more of an extortion and shakedown scheme than actually growing/harvesting/transporting the fruits. So everytime you buy an avocado or take a bite of guacamole you're supporting the Mexican cartels.
