Could you please expand on China not being like the USA 'invaders' and give a few examples of how China does it? The Taiwanese, Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, and India would all like to be 'educated' on this topic.

  4. And now the additional factor. Rather than increase domestic industrial capacity and create jobs they are looking at building overseas auto plants in the markets imposing import tariffs. While it might increase bottom-line revenue for companies like BYD or Geely (and the CCP), wouldn't that exacerbate the problems of unemployment and overbuilt industrial capacity at home?

  5. Nah, then they will be a version on all those drugstore chains in the USA (Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid) that all overbuilt capacity in expectation of the retiring boomers spending their wealth on medical needs and pharmaceuticals. But that surge in demand never occurred. Whoops!

  6. Bad for the long term. Economically it would help in the short term as you ramp up the industrial output of military hardware, but they (China/CCP) still have to fund that expense and that usually involves going deep into debt to do it on top of the existing sovereign debt. To paraphrase and old saying, when you're already in a debt hole and are trying to find a way out, the first thing you do is stop digging deeper.
