  1. China is still catching up, not doing better. A single system like high-speed rail is an apples/oranges situation, and not an end-all for comparing one country to another. It may be right for China, but not for the USA.

  2. Salt Creek Beach in southern Laguna Beach/northern Dana Point, California (halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego). Looks like the surf sucks on the day this was filmed, and it wasn't foggy seven days ago.
