  1.  @personzorz  How is that happening? What I've seen/experienced over the last decades was not imperialism by the USA, but negotiations with another countries to station troops on bases in those countries without taking over foreign government operations. Outright expansionist imperialism is what Russia is doing with Ukraine (and possibly the Baltic countries) or China is trying to do with Taiwan or islands occupied by Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, or others in East Asia.

  2. More like a 4 or 8 year cycle. Presidential campaign rhetoric gets distributed all over the world, the allies that hear it start to question the integrity of the USA's commitment, then after the election they seek out re-assurances that we're all still on the same side as the USA. Kind of nerve wracking to say the least.

  3. I don't know where you got that (you likely made it up), but the BRICS' five main countries didn't agree to any type of common currency at their last meeting in December 2024. The most commonly used among them is the Chinese yuan (all the other countries trade with China) but there's no way China is going to let its currency 'float' nor will China open up their opaque financial system to the outside world.

  4. Actually we've had global trade for quite a while; remember the Bristish Empire and its world-wide trading system? The French, Portuguese, and Dutch had similar worldwide systems, and there were some regional systems (S.S. Asia and East Africa with the Middle East come to mind), and all inter-traded with the others on occasion. You probably mean a literal system of information flow that can occur almost instantaneously due to semiconductors and the world-wide web, and 'specialization' in what each country can do and do at a lower cost/better quality outcome than others.
