  1. I thought Israel and Turkey already had solid relations; not sure if 'great' would be proper. PZ doesn't mention it, but I'd bet they're closely coordinating with each other on what their militaries are doing in Syria so as not to mistakenly attack each other's positions. A few common goals for sure, but each has its own reasons for being there, too.
