  1. Early Sony portable radio story. From a Sony bio book best as I can recall, the book had a dark blue / black cover with SONY in white letters and a sine wave in the background. There is a good story about how Sony imported batteries from the USA to be included with the radio and the maker ( Ray-o-vac / Union Carbide ) complained about the unauthorized " sale " . A founder of Sony had a sit down meeting in the USA with a Ray-o-vac executive , told the executive that it was good advertising and the consumer would likely but the same brand of battery. The Sony founder then walked out in a mic drop moment and there was not any more issue with importing batteries.
