  8. The insurance covered the VALUE of the car not what the loan pay off is. Don't blame the insurance co if you are upside down on loan payments as that isn't their responsibility.

  11. Seems like the insurance co paid the value of the car at time of loss but didn't cover the balance of the loan. Also, the guy states that he had " new car replacement " coverage which does not apply to a 5 year old car.

  29.  Pat Rincon  Listen to the news story, those that died were in the car that caused the crash as it cut across lanes to get to the exit. You really should be sorrowful for the other 2 cars involved. At some point, dash cam vid is bound to come out, be sure to watch it.

Yep, car made a last second dive across the solid white line to make the exit hitting the truck. Both vehicles went over the wall with the car that caused the crash ending up under the truck pulling the trailer. How much do you want to bet the family of the car that caused the crash sues the driver of the truck?

  39. In the USA, every day, about 110 people die in car crashes ( that is 40,000 per year ) and countless are injured, how does that stack up with light plane crashes?

  40. The order of events was: Smoke in the cockpit, pilots on oxygen, Aviate, Navigate, Communicate Reverted to bare minimum emergency back up power. ( Houston we've had a problem B Bus under volt ) RAT deployed ( Ram Air Turbine drops out from under plane ) to generate some electrical power / hydraulic pressure. Pilots lost radio communication due to power issues. Pilots put aircraft on the ground as quickly as possible Reverse thrusters are not operable in emergency mode, maximum braking is applied and the brakes / tires WILL catch fire , this is normal and the aircraft can tolerate this.

  41. When this crash was a stand alone news story without background, many were complaining that police should NEVER chase a stolen car as it is just property that can be replaced. Well, I guess they would be complaining if police didn't chase in this instance.
