@thegrimstreaker4669 Are you aware that mechanics were complaining about " those new fangled electronic ignitions " being difficult to work on back in the day and some converted back to points? .

@thegrimstreaker4669 There are always high mileage outliers for the occasional car that has been maintained and driven without abuse. 380,000 isn't typical otherwise we would still see thousands of these cars in daily use.

Car companies got a build these humongously complicated machines that the average Person can barely even touch let alone fix something difficult, because government has all these stupid regulations " Modern cars are easy to work on if you have a scan tool , trouble shooting tree, wiring diagram AND intelligence, you seem to lack all of these and are unwilling to acquire skills. Cars are far , far more efficient, powerful and longer lasting than " in the day " . You can live the rest of your life being a willing victim or you can learn new skills, what will you choose?

@glenyssmith261 And you were changing spark plugs every 15,000 miles where a modern car can go 100,000 + between spark plug changes. Please explain how it would be a good idea to compromise the design of a car easy access for a service that might occur once in the cars lifetime.

@glenyssmith261 said " That's great when the lifetime of the car is 15,000 miles today. " Even if your 15,000 miles is a typo and you meant 150,000 miles, that is still under the typical life of a MAINTAINED car. A car can easily make it into 200,000 miles with a bit of care. Compare that with a car from the 1970's and you might get 75,000 before there are major issues with the engine / transmission.

@exiteternium said " it would literally shoot the plugs out of the head cause the threads would get something called Galvanic Corrosion. " Care to explain how corrosion ( that grabs and locks threads together ) causes the spark plugs to strip and come out? The issue with the Ford plug ejection is that they come loose then the threads wear casing them to fail.
1
@exiteternium Threaded parts that corrode are locked together, apparently you have never removed any bolts / spark plugs. The Fords fail because the spark plug becomes loose and that wears out the threads as the engine cycles.

@exiteternium said " ok genius, then Why is it every thread is gone when the plug pops? " Loosen the spark plug on your lawn mower a turn then start the engine. You will see the spark plug wobbling around, this is what eventually wears out the threads NOT corrosion from a fully tightened plug.

@exiteternium said " that doesn't explain the potting (holes, white discoloration different from outside the head) or why the threads pulled with the plug when it ejects are also crumbly, or the flaking of the chromioum coating on the plug, " Look up " Fretting " As for the plating on the spark plug being affected , hot combustion gasses are doing this.
