  1. Over 50% of English vocabulary consists of borrowings and imports from Latin and French. Many of the words these benighted po-mo idiots at Stanford are suggesting as the acceptable alternatives for the words they dislike are themselves the result of colonialism (French) and appropriation (from both Latin and French). People outside of academia cannot imagine the degree of plain old ignorance (as in not knowing stuff) among college and university faculty.
