  1. Germans have always been excessively compliant. They revere authority no matter what it does. After WW2, psychiatrists thought Germans rapturously supported Hitler because of their authoritarian upbringing -- nobody can attribute German prostration before authority to that, any more, though. They're just conformists, very much like we are in Canada.

  2. Some 22% of German high school students believe that Hitler was a human rights champion. That's what their parents and grandparents teach them at home.
