  2. I've spent four years in boarding schools run by Catholic nuns, two different convents and two different religious orders, and in neither convent was there any lesbianism. I have no interest in covering anything up as I'm Eastern Orthodox, not Roman Catholic myself.

  6. It does not. Just as the Orthodox never went for witch hunting, so popular among Protestant and Catholic churches, so we seem perfectly capable of sexual continence, too. This abominable rot is peculiar to the Roman Catholic church and it needs to be extirpated at once.

  7. The Vatican itself is at fault here. A number of pope's and papal administrations have known about the sexual abuse of nuns for decades and the church did literally nothing about it. The rot is profound and entrenched.

  9. How could any nun believe that servicing a priest sexually is/was God's will?! The nuns do know their Bible, and they do get a fairly thorough theological education. So how can they behave like women in some fringe Protestant sects and cults who let their leaders have dozens of wives and who give their adolescent ñdaughters to these lascivious old goats? I'm NOT blaming the nuns or casting aspersions on them. I'm just bewildered at the amount of power priests wield in the Catholic church and the amount of unthinking obedience the church encourages and indeed demands to have made otherwise intelligent and educated women think God wants them to service a priest sexually! The power imbalance between men and women and the religious and the lay people in the Roman Catholic church is psychologically unhealthy and morally perverse.
