  1. About 20 years ago here in Ontario, Canada, we briefly had an initiative started by a liberal Anglo-Canadian woman to make sharia law equal in standing with our secular legal system. This was being pushed on us in the name of multiculturalism and tolerance. It was only due to the very firm and courageous stand an association of Muslim women took in opposition to recognizing sharia in Canada that this dangerous "liberal" nonsense of tolerating the intolerant and the oppressive was eventually rejected.

  2. I can only imagine how shocking and hurtful that must have been. I think, however, that such attitudes may gradually change as more and more of us in the West refuse to accept Israeli conflation of Jewishness with Zionism and refuse to be emotionally and morally blackmailed by what many Jews themselves seemingly call the Holocaust industry, i.e. the cynical exploitation of the memory of WW2 Nazi wholesale annihilation of European Jewry to justify or excuse Zionist atrocities against the people of Palestine.

It was then Muslim activists who took a stand and launched campaigns against these proposed Sharia courts. Iranian-born Homa Arjomand argued that Sharia tribunals would undermine women’s rights and “push back Canadian law by 1,400 years.” “Keep Sharia Law out of Canadian judicial system,” Sun columnist Tarek Fatah wrote at the time, arguing that religious tribunals trespass upon the public domain. Extreme sexism was equally the informing spirit of Greco-Roman polytheism or paganism, even more fiercely patriarchal than either Judaism, Christianity or Islam.
