  3.  @Sayid-al-Furat  Not so. The regions in question were a part of Russia itself until Lenin chopped them off and annexed to the Borderlands in order to create Ukraine. This is why they're still populated by ethnic Russians, direct descendants of the Russians whose land Lenin had arbitrarily alienated in the 1920s.

  5.  @walterbrunswick  The 73% of Ukrainians who voted for Zelensky in 2019 did so based on his campaign promise to implement the Minsk Accords and re-establish close relations with Russia. Ukrainians are no more stupid than Germans, for example, who've shamefully silent about the American destruction of their key energy infrastructure.
