I've just checked this online, and the study of identical twins mentioned here (regarding the genetic component in homosexuality) was done in 1993 AND on a tiny sample of 38 pairs of monozygotic twins. "Thirty-eight pairs of monozygotic twins (34 male pairs and 4 female pairs) were found to have a concordance rate of 65.8% for homosexual orientation. Twenty-three pairs of dizygotic twins were found to have a concordance rate of 30.4% for homosexual orientation." The difference between the monozygotic and dizygotic twins is so stark that it certainly confirms the hypothesis that homosexuality has a strong genetic component. Since the study had a sample of only 38 identical twins, it should be followed up with a much larger sample size study.
