It's frightening how all the experts and authorities involved in this case were taken in by Anissa. Especially as it's obvious that she was skewing things to exonerate herself. The woman detective interrogating Anissa reoeatedly poses questions that can clearly be used by Anissa and her attorney to claim she committed the crime in a state of delusion. Morgan's detachment and her ever-so-innocent voice are creepy, as is her illness itself, but chilling as Morgan is, Anissa strikes me as the more dangerous, sly personality. She'll probably get only more manipulative and more successful at it as an adult. God help anyone who crosses paths with her.

@hauntedshadowslegacy2826 It's terrible that people have been and still are shamed or called to task for stimming, being hyperfocused, fidgeting, etc. That's just insensitive and cruel. I understand now why the word "normal" would have strong negative associations for anyone on whom it was used as a cudgel to beat into "normalcy" with. Thank you for having the patience to explain these things to us so calmly and graciously. I'll leave my previous comment standing because it records the thinking I started with, as this comment records the shift in my thinking in response to your explanations and your kindness in not getting angry with those of us who've been rather insensitive towards you. I get it now and will be using neurodivergent and neurotypical in future. God bless.

@frobber150 But they don't send the insane to regular prisons, do they?

@rachel5543 You've made that up. There's NO research suggesting that "mild" hallucinations are common.

So true. There's something seriously crazy about the very system in which "specialists" miss what the overwhelming majority of laypeople can plainly see.

@KanekiKen-mu4nu Yes, it does. It proves that the US is a lot, lot crazier than the rest of the world. The amazing thing is that so few Americans seem to understand it. The guy you're replying to was being polite. Most of the world views the US with a little bit of horror, the way one views a psycho. And we never say that to Americans because it would be rude to rub it in their faces. I've just broken that taboo, though saying these things to you was probably pointless. 😕

@NexLegacyAccount Normal comes from the word "norm", i.e. the typical behaviour, trait, etc.for a specific kind of thing. Normal and neurotypical are synonymous, but the first feels like a judgement (subjective) while the second feels scientific (objective).
