@paolagratsos6201 We're using the word culture in two entirely different senses. You're referring to art, architecture, literature, theatre, etc. while I'm using culture in the sense of a society's way of life, its core beliefs about itself and others, its customs and its understanding of human relationships. And we're both right: yes, the UK is rich in literary and other arts, in its artistic heritage, but its core beliefs about what a society is, the way it's structured in classes, etc. prevent the rise of statesmen of the rank of Xi or Putin. Had it not been for WW2 and his fine gift for rhetoric, Churchill would be remembered today as a viciously racist English imperialist but certainly not as a statesman.
