  2. I remember Scott Ritter explaining back in June 2022 that the battlefront had become a real Hell on Earth by then. And that hasn't changed at all. Ukrainian casualties are simply unimaginable, with over 1,000 men dying each and every day. 😢

He found himself without provisions in an empty Moscow Kutuzov had deliberately evacuated in advance, surrounded by Russian farmers in the countryside refusing to sell food to French troops. It was Napoleon's failure to take his logistics into account that forced him to pull out of Moscow and out of Russia as a whole. Most of the casualties his army sustained on their march westwards were due to diphtheria, not to the cold and snow.

  4.  @kiwifrankie  Napoleon knew what month it was when he fell into Kutuzov's trap and entered an empty Moscow. He simply hadn't prepared his supplies properly.
