  2. Just as Latin was after the fall of the Roman Empire, so is English the lingua franca of the contemporary world, regardless of the geopolitical future of the Anglo world itself.

  3. This is not the demise of the West. It's simply a long-overdue re-arrangement of power and influence. There's absolutely no good reason the US, Canada, Australia and EU countries can't have a solid future trading and otherwise co-operating with BRICS countries, i.e. with the rest of the world. What's over is the era of Western domination and exploitation of the world, and that's nothing to mourn.
