You can make it a lot simpler by not worrying about eating all the fat standard keto requires. Remember, the diet was designed for children with epilepsy and the amount of fat appropriate for that specific health condition simply isn't necessary for most people. I'm ketovore right now, slowing inching towards carnivore, which I want to do for 3 months straight and then reassess. I do like vegetables and am hoping I can reintroduce them into my diet some time down the road.

@montanawhite5699 You may want to read up on the use of Omega-3 oils in the treatment of depression. I understand they help a fairly high percentage of people.

@johnblackwood1337 I've had several students who write really well tell me the same thing, so you're not alone. And apart from teaching college English, I've also worked as an editor, so you can trust me. 🙂

I'm a retired college prof of English. You write really well. 🙂

@healthyone100 Why not? Is there a countervailing medical reason, or is it that you have an overwhelming aversion to meat, poultry, and seafood?

@healthyone100 You do realize that plants also wish to live and actively resist being eaten with the toxic substances they produce to deter predators? Vegans are so animal-centric, pretending or simply not knowing that their eating habits are just as aggressive and destructive of life forms that desire to live as any omnivore or carnivore is. None of us is to blame for how nature has organized itself and the fact that ALL animal life depends on predation and the devouring of other living beings, be they animal or vegetative.

@healthyone100 Educate yourself on oxalates and other plant toxins.

@healthyone100 If you believe the Book of Genesis (parts of which are poetically and mythographically beautiful and indeed meaningful, but none of which is history), ask yourself how it was possible for Cain and Abel to populate the Earth since the only woman around, accord to the myth, was their own mother. I am a Christian, but I also believe -- am absolutely sure -- that God wants us to use reason and subsequently developed knowledge in interpreting the Bible. Jesus himself most certainly ate meat (lamb, specifically) and fish, as attested by the New Testament.

@rstranger7575 I'm about to start a 3-month carnivore experiment for health and weight loss, and am a little apprehensive about both boredom and a craving for sweets. Eating fish, seafood, chicken, duck, as well as beef (I don't like lamb and very rarely eat pork) should provide some variety, and when the cravings for something sweet become intolerable, I'll use stevia to sweeten my whipped cream (also an animal product). It's going to be a challenge, but I understand from the testimony of just about every person who's adopted the carnivore way of eating that cravings either disappear altogether or subside to the point at which ignoring them is doable.
