@stchan8569 None of his three degrees is in economics. His first degree is in music, and his Master's and Doctorate are both in Social Work.

What's PM?

EU countries are on their way down. It'd be the height of stupidity for us to join the EU when there's an economically better alternative.
2
Where's the irony? The guy's shown himself incompetent/inefficient, and in such a case, legal scholars agree, the president has the authority to fire him. Btw, it's exactly what Germany's Scholtz has done to his finance minister.
2
@mydancinglife730 😂
2
Can someone explain to me the difference between CBCD and debit/credit card type of payments or wire transfers from one bank and one country to another? What are the CBDCs supposed to do that the already existing payment systems can't?
2
The US and Russia have NOT broached the Ukraine question yet. Their meetings to date have been exclusively about repairing bilateral relations.
2
Correct.
2
Not clueless -- just bare-faced liars.

Germany's unquestionably the Sick Man of the EU, though.
1
@firebir11 That's what the price of cucumber was here, too, until a couple of years ago.
1
This guy has a first degree in music (I kid you not) and a Master's and a Doctorate in Social Work. How he got to a position that requires an in-depth knowledge of economics is anybody's guess.
1
Good. Now go home already and leave Europe to itself please!
1
@kirilmazurek2843 It's exactly the other way round.
1
Message, don't let the Anglos lead you by the nose. Look after your own interests and choose your friends wisely.
1
This was true 20 and 30 years ago, but not any more.
1
😅
1
The number of people on welfare has been consistently decreasing since 2017, and the trend continues.
1
He doesn't care.
1
Except that, as it turns out, Germany needs Russia but Russia doesn't need Germany. With their proxy war with Russia, the neocon idiots in the US have only managed to Destroy Ukraine Strengthen Russia immeasurably Weaken Germany, perhaps irreversibly Draw Russia and China even closer together than they already were pre-2022
1
The BRICS+ nations are developing another financial settlement system, and they already overshadow the West economically (as well as militarily, of course).
1
All of the West does it, all the time.
1
😂
1
Weren't they chips from Ukrainian washing machines? 😂
1
@concerned_2023 Long before Trump came onto the scene, US neocons (both parties) were calling themselves Masters of the Universe.
1
Because the US has bought their politicians. It's as venal and sordid as that. Paul Craig Roberts wrote about it almost 10 years ago now. Every month, the State Department flies suitcases full of dollars to assorted EU capitals.
1
The entire ruling elite are so cut off from the rest of us, from the lives we lead, that they could as well be living in some other country than the one we inhabit. Both here and in the EU. Make you think of pre-revolutionary France and its self-indulgent aristocrats.
1
@billb3673 The prices of everything were less then 10% of what they are today. More like 5%.
1
Cope harder.
1
Au contraire.
1
@robertkubrick3738 The longer they delay works on repairing it, the more difficult it will be to restore it to a working condition. At some point, it will become impossible, in fact.
1
😮
1
The world is simply re-organizing itself. A common historical process.
1
I've been using ExoressVPN fir the past 2-3 years and recommend it highly.
1
China doesn't need to cook the books. It now outproduces both the US and the EU combined. Having lifted 800 million people out of poverty. These figures are according to the US-dominated World Bank.
1
How do you explain such acquiescence? The current attitude does seem to confirm that Germans are abnormally compliant, as if hypnotized at birth to accept whatever "the authorities" tell them or do.
1
@hmwong9235 Of course Scholz knew! Otherwise, the entire German government and the Bundestag too would be up in arms about the US blowing up their key energy infrastructure!
1
Russia is thinking long term, and Europe is but the westernmost peninsula of Asia.
1
100%.
1
And yet you understood perfectly well what she said.
1
@marcmcreynolds2827 Imported inflation, according to even the conservative Western press, is the result of the dollar's "exorbitant privilege", as de Gaulle put it back in 1960.
1
Jared Bernstein has a doctorate in social work. None of his degrees is in economics.
1
The GDP is a joke. What counts is what we produce. And we let US corporations move production abroad so we now produce a fraction of what we used to. For comparison, China now produces both us and all of Europe combined!
1
Don't be lazy. Google it first, and the answer to your other questions will become clear.
1
@ScottKulik-f6q Living above your means is all fine and dandy until it no longer is.

@ScottKulik-f6q Living beyond your means is great while it lasts.
