@chrismifsud3414 They should have opposed NATO expansionism, then. They had the last 30 years to do so, and the previous 8 years to demand that Kiev stop shelling Donbass. They did neither. What's coming to them is just deserts.

@user-ow1bn6qv8q You need to be realistic about these things. Each of the Russian defence lines is stronger than the previous. And while the Ukrainian side claims to have reached the first of them in one or two spots along a 1000 km line, they haven't managed to make a dent to it in 3 months.

Things must be going really badly for Ukraine that its Western supporters feel compelled to litter this comment section with their absurdities quite so vehemently as is the case today. Meanwhile, the Swiss newspaper le Temps reports on the secret decision of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to restrict the access of Western journalists to the battlefield.

@danielbwest You should have a look at the actual text of the Minsk Accords, which is available online. It was the duty of France and Germany (Russia itself isn't even a party to the Accords!) to make sure Minsk Accords were implemented by Ukraine. We also know from François Hollande, Angela Merkel, and Pietro Poroshenko speaking separately on this issue that the Minsk Accords were negotiated in utter bad faith by the West and were intended never to be implemented but to serve as a screen to arm Ukraine for a proxy war against Russia.

Meanwhile, the German government has announced that it doesn't have the funds to subsidize industrial and residential use of electricity any longer....
