  2. That's all very nice, but it's also completely unrealistic. The West is driven by greed and an insatiable lust for power and dominance. It will never leave Russia alone, respecting its security interests, until the West has been degraded economically (and therefore militarily, too) to a second or third rate status, globally. Until it's been rendered incapable of wreaking havoc, grabbing other people's riches, and strutting around intimidating others. I'm afraid that the Russian governing elite still refuses to understand this.
