Robert Kagan, Victoria Nuland's husband wrote an article some 20+ years ago arguing that a nuclear war with Russia is winnable -- at the expense of some 20 million US deaths. He didn't bother to estimate the number of European victims of his bright idea. Kagan's never renounced his desire to see the US start a nuclear war with Russia.

(The West is really hopeless -- men who insist they're "really" women, a US president who starts 5 new wars and is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize by the Swedes for it, the whole West every few years going on bombing raids against some country or rather that's never done them any harm, braying about freedom and democracy while supporting a genocide in Gaza, etc. What a sick, sick civilization.)
