@charlesmartel6103 Bet you didn't say the same when the US invaded Afghanistan, or when the US and UK invaded Iraq, or when NATO countries bomb Serbia, or when NATO countries attacked and bombed Libya, etc. Btw, when you invade a Nazi country (whether it's one that's killing people of your ethnicity just because of their ethnicity, or another that isn't), you are a liberator from Nazis, not one of them yourself.

@charlesmartel6103 Kherson was never fought over in a serious way: the Russians had failed to mobilize in time (Putin dragging his heels s usual), was in Ukraine with only an army the size of an expeditionary force, and the Russian Army did the rational thing. Not having enough forces for the task, the Russians withdrew and let the Ukrainian forces walk in. It was a Russian loss and a Ukrainian gain, but no victory to Ukraine.

@nbrown4205 I understand that the silent majority in Kiev are hoping for that, but I still don't get the impression that the Russian leadership has made any such decision yet.

Drastic, but probably -- no, undoubtedly -- the best outcome for everyone's long-term future. I doubt that's what will come to pass.

Conquest of Russia was always in the cards: Nazi plans for the USSR were clear from the start: invade, conquer, wipe out 2/3 of the Russian population and use the remainder as slave labour. It was a key goal from the start.
