It was only a year later that I learned the Russians had definite intelligence at the time that Kiev was about to launch a massive assault on the civilian population of Donbass. Putin knew this, and so did that fool who argued for waiting another couple of days. I'm still amazed that Putin didn't sack them back in February 2022.
