  2. ​ @Ijusthopeitsquick  Short of a nuclear war provoked by the West, Russia will, at least to begin with, refrain from hitting civilian areas. They'll confine themselves to military targets alone, so unless you have friends and family in the British army and navy, you don't need to worry very much. If the West corners Russia into using its tactical nukes, though, all bets will be off. I'm praying it doesn't come to that.

  4. Poland, Germany, France, Spain, the UK and Italy are all mid-sized countries, small in comparison with Russia, yes, but then no country except Canada comes even close in size to the Russian Federation. And even there, Russia's almost twice the size of Canada!

But Putin's personally also responsible for this war: he's admitted he made a mistake in not going into Donbass back in 2014, a mistake due to his excessive cautiousness, and one that's now costing tens of thousands of Russian lives. And he still clings to his go-slow approach, which has only led to the West getting more and more hysterical while giving the same West time to organize its escalations, bringing us all closer and closer to Armageddon. We've been so accustomed in the West, so groomed into accepting a governing class whose only loyalty is to their donors that a president who actually loves his country and his people seems something especially praiseworthy when it should be so basic as to be taken for granted. 😢

It could, if a part of the agreement is that Russia may, exclusively, have 5-10 military bases scattered around rump Ukraine, with up to 150,000 Russian soldiers stationed in them at any given point in time, to make sure Ukraine keeps its end of the bargain. Short of that, I don't see the point of any peace agreement with Kiev and Lvov.
